The Athens County Foundation (ACF) is grounded in a simple approach: invest in community strengths, build meaningful relationships, learn together, and align efforts to create greater impact across Athens County.


Strengths+Strengths (S+S) grew from this approach. S+S supports local social sector leaders and administrators, people we lovingly call "changemakers," by strengthening connections, sharing tools, expanding capacity through learning, and building a strong system of support for those serving the community.


ACF recognizes that our community already holds deep strengths. Through S+S, we build on and expand those strengths, helping people and organizations do more, together.

Join us for the Athens County Nonprofit Executive Retreat!


We will be gathering to develop or restore individual capacity within the staff of nonprofits in the area while fostering cohesion to strengthen our network and collaboration. Thanks to the support of the Athens County Foundation, this retreat is open to up to 2 executive leaders from each nonprofit organization in Athens County, with all materials, refreshments, meals, and services provided free of charge. 


This retreat is focused on:

  • Cultivate space for individuals to focus on self-care. 
  • Alignment around a shared understanding of the current landscape
  • Strengthen trust while enabling candid, productive dialogue
  • Advance readiness for deeper collaboration
