Knowledge is a community asset. In partnership with the OHIO Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, the Athens County Foundation publishes data resources that help illuminate the opportunities and challenges facing Athens County.
These resources are available to everyone working to strengthen our community, providing information that supports learning, collaboration, and data-informed action.
Athens County Report
The Athens County Report serves as a compass, guiding us through the landscape of challenges and opportunities that shape our community. This report provides a snapshot of the factors affecting progress toward the following strategic priorities: economic vitality, vibrant communities, and individual health and well-being. Since 2016, when this report was first commissioned, the Athens County Report has informed and directed the work of the Foundation, and many local nonprofit organizations, government organizations, churches, and other organizations serving the community.
This report is made possible through the support of Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, Sunday Creek Horizons, and the numerous Athens County community members who graciously contributed their time and insights.
Deep Dive Reports
Some challenges require a closer look.
Our Deep Dive Reports examine some of Athens County's most complex and interconnected challenges. These reports move beyond surface-level trends to explore underlying conditions, systems, and local experience to create a fuller picture of both challenges and opportunities.
Stay tuned as we continue to expand this collection. Additional Deep Dive Reports are currently in development and will explore other complex issue areas affecting Athens County, including K-12 education, childcare, mental health and substance use, and more.
