Members and Donors of Athens Foundation Touch Many Lives in Athens County

The Athens Foundation has been serving the people of Athens County for over 30 years. Membership in The Athens Foundation is a rewarding and easy way to giving back to the community .

Grants focus largely on arts, culture, recreation social services, health, environmental, civic improvement, environment, animal welfare and educational projects within Athens County.

From the initial contributions of $50 each by its eight founding members, the assets of the corporation have grown tremendously. This year, the Foundation awarded over 30 grants and other allocations to local non-profit and government agencies, totaling more than $130,000. Since its beginning it has awarded over $1,000,000. Members and donors of the Athens Foundation touch many lives in Athens County.

Members and donors give back in valuable ways to the Athens County by voting for important organizational issues at the fall annual meeting as well as receiving tax benefits for their donations.

New members are always needed to help continue the work of the Foundation in Athens County. Members and donors can give a significant gift that will endure in perpetuity through named donor advised funds, designated funds, special interest funds,  general endowment funds or willed bequests.
