The Athens Foundation Announces Rocky Community Improvement Fund Grants Available

The Rocky Community Improvement Fund is accepting grant applications through May 1, 2010 for local projects in education, health, social services, housing, and community development and beautification that will benefit the citizens of Nelsonville and the surrounding communities. Any registered non-profit or tax-exempt organization in Nelsonville and the surrounding communities is eligible to apply.

The Rocky Community Improvement Fund is a donor-advised fund that operates through the Athens Foundation. Spring Grant applications for the Rocky Community Improvement Fund are available at the Athens Foundation web site: www.athensfoundation.org or at the office: 2 S. Court St., 2nd Floor, Athens. They may also be obtained by calling the Athens Foundation at 740-594-6061 or Rocky Brands at 740-753-9100 x2115. In addition to the grant application, the Athens Foundation web site contains information about grant guidelines and eligibility and other forms that are essential to the successful completion of the grant application.

Grant applications must be received by May 1, 2010. Mail or deliver applications to 39 E. Canal St., Nelsonville, OH 45764, Attn: Amy McCulloch. Decisions on all grants will be made by June 1 and contracts will be sent to recipients by June 15. For more information on the grants process, call
